Post Office Recurring Deposit Interest Rate.

1. Interest rate is 7.1% per annum [quarterly compounded].
2. Minimum invested amount is 10 Rs per month or any amount in multiple of Rs 5.There is no maximum limit.
3. Account can be opened in the name of minor and minor of 10 yrs and above can open and operate the account.
4. Joint account can be opened by two adults.
5. If the account is opened till 15th , then deposit can be made till 15th and if it is opened after that , then deposit
can be made till the end of the month.
6. If amount is not paid in due period then 0.5 % Amount extra will be charged. If 4 regular defaults
are made then the account will be discontinued and the same needs to be revived in 2 mts, otherwise
further payments will be cancelled.
7. Withdrawl upto 50% of balance allowed after one year.
